HERE TO STAY! Today the Albany FireWolves owner and CEO Oliver Marti, alongside GM and Head Coach of the FireWolves Glenn Clark, General Manager of MVP Arena Bob Belber and Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy, announced that the FireWolves and MVP Arena have come to an agreement on a 6 year arena deal. This comes after an initial 3 year deal that saw the FireWolves start their run in the Capital Region during the 2021 season, when the team would have their COVID season. After making the relocation from New England to Albany in 2021, the FireWolves have seen 2 postseason berths in ‘22 and ‘24, with a finals appearance this past season.
Albany FireWolves Owner and CEO Oliver Marti stated that it is thanks to the support of both Bob Belber and Daniel McCoy that the FireWolves have been able to make such an impact on the community in the short amount of time that they have been there and they all look forward to helping the FireWolves grow even more. With the FireWolves staying in the Capital Region for the next 6 years, they will continue to grow the sport of lacrosse, grow with the community and most of all look to bring a championship back to Albany!
